During the Thirteenth IAMC Annual Meeting held online last 1-4 December 2020 in Tzukuba, Japan, the Integrated Assessment Modeling Consortium was proud to honour Jae Edmonds (PNNL) with the IAMC Lifetime Achievement Award

Jae Edmonds has been an absolutely essential part of the IAM enterprise from the very beginning and is central in the living memory of IAM research over the past 40 years.

He has co-authored many pathbreaking IAM studies such as the development of a one of the first IAMs in the early 1990s , his contributions to the first set of IPCC scenarios in 1992, the WRE carbon emissions pathways in 1996, the next generation IPCC SRES scenarios in 2000, and the current RCP/SSP scenario approach. He had done IAM work on international climate policy and equity considerations, incorporating land use modeling in IAMs, global climate technology strategies, the energy-water-land nexus, and many other IAM research areas. Jae has also been a major contributor to national and international climate policy assessments and model inter- comparison studies over the years, including his significant contributions to every single one of the IPCC assessment reports. Most importantly of all, Jae Edmonds has been an avid and tireless IAM community builder, reflected, in part, by his critical roles in the IAMC. Without his contributions, the IAM discipline and the IAM community would not be nearly where they are today.
