The last monthly meeting of the IAMC Scientific Steering Committee meeting (SSC) took place on August 29th, 2022. It focused on the preparation of this year’s Annual Meeting and the determination of the registration fees. Every effort was made to keep the fee for residents in less developed countries as low as possible, considering the budget constraints and the fact that the costs of a hybrid event are significantly higher than a fully online or fully in-person event. This will be the first IAMC Annual Meeting offering the possibility of attending either in person or online, albeit with different participation requirements. The organisational and fundraising effort required to develop these options have been substantial, but the SSC is confident that the choices made will ensure the most inclusive and global scientific exchange possible.
