The Scientific Working Group on Model Diagnostics and Evaluation has launched a pilot exercise to develop a community-standard diagnostic framework for Integrated Assessment Models (IAMs). No less than 32 teams have shown interest in joining the exercise. Through a set of stylized scenario runs based on a common carbon price pathway, participating teams will help strengthen model transparency, comparability, and validation — contributing to a planned high-level joint publication.
The scenario protocol has been finalized and can be found here. The final submission deadline for the scenarios is September 2026.
